With teaching as part of Baptist Health System’s mission, it’s little wonder that patient education is a priority. Each of our facilities offer knowledgeable educators who work with patients to ensure that they understand how to care for themselves after discharge.

Stroke Education Classes for patients and caregivers, are just a few of the services offered for patients recovering from stroke through the Brain and Stroke Network at Baptist Health System. Classes held weekly, Monday through Thursday at 3 p.m. at St. Luke's Baptist Hospital Rehabilitation Dining Room (3rd floor). For more information contact Gayla at (210) 297-5175.
With the height of the flu season upon us and the common cold virus insiduously spreading, keeping germs at bay can be a vigilant task. Another serious type of germ is the Staph germ which can also be easily spread and can cause Methicillin-Resistant Staph Infection (MRSA), a bacterial infection that is resistant to some antibiotics.
The Gestational Diabetes Program is a 1 1/2 hour course designed to help you take control of your diabetes. Classes held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 9 a.m., call (210) 297-7005 to register.

If you have concerns about the latest care for your new grandbaby, this is the class for you.
Designed for mothers and their partners who have never attended preparation classes, this class covers many aspects of pregnancy and childbirth.
This two-hour class helps older children prepare for separation from mom during her hospital stay and life with a new baby in the house.
If you are delivering at Baptist Medical Center and are at least 32 weeks pregnant, this is the class for you!
This three-hour baby care class, offered to parents in their last trimester, includes topics such as diapering and bathing baby, sleep and crying patterns, normal newborn characteristics and hospital routines.
Designed especially for mothers and their partners who have attended childbirth preparation classes, or for parents who have attended class but feel they need to review the information and techniques again.
