Academic and/or DI Calendar or Schedule
For the part time option, the program contains a minimum of 1200 hours of supervised practice and is approximately 21 weeks in length. The program consists of one, 10-week summer session and one, 11-week summer session. Accepted interns into the part time option must utilize the program’s Assessment of Prior Learning policy so as to credit hours for past experiences. (Thus credited hours plus completed supervised practice hours must total minimum of 1200 hours of supervised practice). For the second, 11-week summer session the intern will be allowed to complete the experience at a local supervised practice site of the intern’s choice (ie distance). The Dietetic Internship Director will provide the intern the Memorandum of Agreement, but it is the intern’s responsibility to complete and return of the signed agreement back to the Dietetic Internship Director. The site must be approved by the Dietetic Internship Director and must be able to provide learning activities to support meeting the required competencies. The intern will be required to come back to San Antonio at the end of the second, 11-week summer session for presentation of their second Case Study, submission of their Portfolio, and completion of the final/exit examination.
